 K. The name of Sivan is Kailashavadivo Sivan. Born in Kanyakumari.

The name of the village is Sarakkalvilai... The family was poor. So much that there was no money for Sivan's study. He studied in the village government school. Just read till the 8th. Had to get out of the village for further studies. But there was no money in the house. K Sivan had to raise fees for reading. And for this they started selling mangoes in the nearby market. Pay your fees from the money you get. Sivan after becoming ISRO Chairman had told English newspaper Deccan Chronicle during a conversation.. Sivan did intermediate while studying by selling mangoes, but needed more money for graduation. Due to lack of money, his father admitted him to the Hindu College of Nagarkoil, Kanyakumari. And when they went to Hindu college to do BSc in Maths, they got slippers on their feet. Dhoti - kurta and slippers. Before Sivan never had enough money to even buy slippers for himself. Sivan studied and became the first graduate of his family. Got 100 out of 100 in Maths. And then their mind changed... Now they should have studied science, not maths. And for this they arrived MIT. That is Madras Institute of Technology. There they got scholarships and due to this they did BTech in Aerotical Engineering. The year was 1980. At MIT they got professors like S Namasimhan, NS Venkatarman, A Nagarajan, R Dhanrajan, and K Jayarman who guided K Sivan. After BTech Sivan masters in Aerospace Engineering from Indian Institute of Science Bangalore. And when Sivan IIS came out of Bangalore, he had become a big scientist of aeronautics. Dhoti-Kurta was left out and they were now wearing pant-shirt. He started his job with ISRO i.e. Indian Space Research Organization. Got first job in the team making PSLV. PSLV i.e. Polar Satellite Launch Weekly. A rocket that can send Indian satellites into space. K Sivan and his team managed this job... K Sivan created a software to install rocket in classroom, named Star. The software created by them was very successful and it was discussed in the scientific world of India. During this time, Indian scientists were preparing for GSLV one step ahead of PSLV. GSLV i.e. Geosatellite Launch Weekly. GSLV testing was conducted on April 18, 2001. But the testing failed, because the place where scientists wanted it to be, they couldn't. K Sivan was mastered in this work. GSLV was assigned to launch K Sivan. And they did it. Since then K Sivan has been called rocket man of ISRO... After this Sivan and his team started working on another project. Project was to create reusable launch week. Meaning that launch week can be used again after leaving satellite once from launch week. Till now this has not happened in any country. Under the leadership of K Sivan, Indian scientists were engaged in this. During the year 2006. Sivan obtained a medical degree from IIT Bombay in Aerospace Engineering. And then he was made the head of the fuel department for the launch week in ISRO. The date was July 2, 2014. Less than a year passed and K Sivan was made the head of Vikram Sarabhai Space Center. The space center whose job is to prepare weekly rockets to send Indian satellites into space. Sivan could not work there for a year that he was the head of ISRO at that time. S. Kiran Kumar's tenure has been completed. And then on 14 January, 2015 K Sivan was appointed as the head of ISRO... Sivan, who listens to classical Tamil music and gardeners in his free time, has been awarded with many awards. Under their leadership, ISRO sent 104 satellites together into space on February 15, 2017. ISRO created a world record by doing this. And after this ISRO's biggest mission was Chandrayaan 2, which was launched on July 22, 2019. Chandrayaan divided into two parts on September 2. The first part was the orbiter, which started rounding the moon. The second part was Lander, which was named Vikram. It had to land on the moon's surface on September 6-7..
